Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month May 2024

St. Louis County Library will celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. We have over 70 programs scheduled for all ages, including author events, book and film discussions, cooking demonstrations, art programs and more.

St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and The Novel Neighbor present bestselling historical fiction author Helen Simonson for a discussion and signing of her new novel, “The Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club.” The event will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant’s View Branch, 9700 Musick Rd., St. Louis MO, 63123. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from The Novel Neighbor.

Your Story on Stage

Everyone has a unique story to tell! Adults are invited to share their most captivating stories in audio or text format for a chance to see them brought to life on stage by The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis during the 45th annual St. Louis Storytelling Festival in November. Stories accepted May 1-July 31, 2024.

St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Westfall Politics & History Series presents historians Tom Clavin and Bob Drury for a discussion and signing of their co-authored book “Throne of Grace: A Mountain Man, an Epic Adventure, and the Bloody Conquest of the American West.” The event will take place on Monday May 13, at 7:00 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Branch, 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville, MO 63011. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from Main Street Books.

Free Comic Book Day

SLCL will participate in Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Stop by your local branch to receive a free comic book, while supplies last. We’ll have a selection of titles for all ages.
